Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Amada provides non-medical in-home care and placement assistance to seniors throughout the greater Sacramento area. With a background in pharmaceutical sales, my business found me. I’ve always had the entrepreneurial spirit—as I spent time selling medication for Alzheimer’s disease and becoming more and more involved with medical directors and their patients—so it just made sense. With the aging of America, I saw the opportunity that existed in providing this service to the community.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Our staff is phenomenal. We go the extra mile to help in any area we can, from conducting nursing assessments to working with long-term care insurance carriers or the VA, when applicable, to ensure our clients are receiving their benefits. Our caregivers have a vast wealth of experience and are carefully matched to each of our client’s preferences. At the end of the day, the adage, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” holds true.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my decision to marry my wife, Jennifer. She has been a strong supporter in building Amada Senior Care. I’m also proud of the two years I spent as a missionary in New Zealand.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

There are so many great spots, but I really like Venita Rhea’s for Saturday brunch. My wife and I also enjoy Taj Oven; it’s turned into one of our Friday night go-to date spots.

And finally, customer service is…?

The most important aspect of what we do. Without compassionate, honest and professional caregivers and staff—we have nothing to offer.
