Sacramento Area Museums Honor Military Veterans With Special Events & Activities in November

Imagine. Explore. Discover. In addition to its fascinating Gold
Rush past, the Sacramento area is rich with an amazing array of
state-of-the-art museums and historic sites that offer visitors the
chance to explore California’s fine art, history, science and wildlife
treasures all year long.
In November, many of the 30 members of Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) are featuring a number of special events and activities honoring military veterans, a few of which include the following:

Free Admission & Special Activities Honoring Veterans at Maidu Museum -- 11/10, 12 thru 15
Veterans
can enjoy free admission to the Maidu Museum & Historic Site in
Roseville on 11/10 and 11/12 thru 11/15. And, all Museum visitors can
watch a special one-hour documentary titled Original Patriots: Northern
California Indian Veterans of WWII at 2 p.m. each day that features
three Northern California Native American veterans. Then on 11/15,
author and filmmaker Chag Lowry will introduce his film just before a
special showing that starts at 7 p.m. during the free “Night Out at the

Free Admission & Special Veteran’s Day Activities at the Aerospace Museum -- 11/11
In
a partnership with Wells Fargo Bank, the Aerospace Museum of California
is offering free admission to all guests on Veteran’s Day. In addition,
visitors can enjoy special activities that include a crowd-favorite
Open Cockpit Day, a chance to meet members of the Tuskegee Airmen local
chapter, an on-site presence by Support 4 Soldiers and a special wreath
laying ceremony by the McClellan Chiefs Group at 11 a.m. For more,

Free Excursion Train Rides & Admission for Veterans at the Railroad Museum -- 11/11
To
honor their service and celebrate the patriotic holiday, the California
State Railroad Museum is proud to offer veterans and active military
personnel complimentary excursion train rides on the Sacramento Southern
Railroad at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. plus complimentary Museum admission on
Veteran’s Day! Veterans and active military personnel must show their

Free Admission for Veterans & WWI Exhibit at the Heidrick Ag History Center -- 11/11
The
Heidrick Ag History Center in Woodland plans to recognize Veterans Day
by offering free admission for veterans and active military personnel
who provide a valid ID. And, in addition to offering the nation’s
rarest tractor collection, visitors will see a “developing” exhibit that
memorializes the events and honors those who served in WWI. Guests are
even invited to contribute to the special patriotic exhibit with
non-returnable photos, documents and items to be displayed in a
