FREE “Think Pink” Fitness & Breast Cancer Awareness Events October 25

Oct 07, 2014 04:59PM ● By Brenna Mc Gowan
On Saturday, October 25, THE STUDIO Martial Arts & Fitness will be hosting free fitness and breast cancer awareness events. The events are open to the public at no cost; participants do not need to be a member to attend. STUDIO members are encouraged to invite their family members, friends or associates.

From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., attendees are invited to dress in pink gear and join in a pink-themed cardio kickboxing class. Exercise and breast cancer survival go hand-in-hand; research has shown that regular physical activity reduces the odds of developing breast cancer. No previous experience is necessary to attend the class.

From 11 a.m. to 12p.m., a breast cancer awareness seminar will be presented by Dr. Scott C. Braley, M.D., a board‑certified physician who practices in Roseville. Dr. Braley will discuss topics including self exams, screenings, mammograms, prevention and treatment. The seminar will conclude with a question and answer session.

To RSVP, call them at (916) 258-5425 or stop by their front desk.

And through October 31, members can help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation! Put on your pink apparel, pink gloves or pink belt and attend a class. While you're here, snap a selfie with an instructor or classmate.

Post your photo on our Facebook page and check in at THE STUDIO's location. Include the tag #thestudiopink somewhere in your post text. For each of these posts through the end of October they'll donate $1 (up to a total of $250) to the Susan G. Komen Foundation!
