Canyon Keepers Meeting to Focus on Nature Education October 7

Auburn State Recreation Area Canyon Keepers will explore Discovering Nature with Children with staff from the Placer Nature Center during their presentation on Tuesday evening, October 7.

The Nature Center¹s Education Director Linda Desai and Board of Directors Chairman Steve Davis will demonstrate their favorite activities and tools which parents, teachers, grandparents and others can use to help children enjoy and learn about the natural world around them.

Speakers will share their 23 years experience working to capture the interest of young explorers and expand their curiosity about the natural world around them.

All Canyon Keepers meetings are open to anyone interested, and take place at the Canyon View Community Center, located at 471 Maidu Drive in Auburn. Light refreshments are served beginning at 5:45 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:15 p.m.

The Auburn State Recreation Area Canyon Keepers (ASRACK) is a volunteer group that promotes healthy recreation by providing assistance and information for visitors to the state park. They organize hikes, conduct trail maintenance, provide guided history walks, and assist the professional ranger staff through volunteer work.
