As summer winds down, Rocklin Parks and Recreation is gearing up for all that fall has to offer. Rocklin Flag Football is always a favorite among area children; the season—open to boys and girls in grades pre-K-12—starts September 27 and ends in early November. All participants in this non-contact, co-ed, five-on-five league will receive an official Rocklin Flag Football reversible jersey.
Always a fall favorite, the Rocklin Volleyball Association— a six-week, action-packed instructional league open to children in grades 3-8—begins play this month. Practice takes place once a week, with games on Sundays.
The annual Back-to-School Triathlon, where Rocklin Unified School District students from all grades run, swim and bike at Whitney High School, will happen September 21. Proceeds from this event promoting a healthy and safe school year will benefit Rocklin Unified District schools; students can register individually or as a team.
Rocklin Parks and Recreation’s Itty Bitty Club will start new classes the first week of the month. In this pre-preschool—a parent-participation program that offers all of the fun and interaction of preschool, while still playing, learning and growing together—teacher Alycia Tonna provides toddlers (ages 1.5-3 years old) with educational activities that prepare them for preschool.
Food Truck Mania comes to Johnson-Springview Park the fourth Thursday of the month, through October, from 5-8:30 p.m. Join Rocklin Parks and Recreation and SactoMoFo as they bring out their best gourmet trucks, with food selections guaranteed to satisfy any craving. As you dine in the park, enjoy activities and entertainment.
The Foothill Farmers’ Market makes 4090 Rocklin Road (Finnish Temperance Hall parking lot) their home every Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to noon. Accompanying the fresh produce purveyors are various artists displaying their wares.
