Angel Sun, DDS, Family and Cosmetic Dentistry - El Dorado Hills, CA

Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I’m a general dentist, specializing in seeing the whole family: parents, kids and grandparents. Dentistry has been my passion for a lifetime. I guess I just had a goofy obsession with teeth and smiles—my sixth grade science project was on mouthwash, for Pete’s sake!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
As a mom of two young boys ages two and three, I often say that I’m a full-time mommy and part-time dentist. My boys and I are members of a few local mothers’ groups, so we are always out spending time with lots of other young families. It never fails that a mom says, “Hey, you’re a dentist? I have a question…”

Why is your staff the best in the business?
My staff is amazing—they always treat our patients like family. It takes a special type of person to work in a dental office—you need to be smart, kind, gentle, empathetic and fun. I feel so lucky to have found people who meet all of these qualifications.

What’s your hidden talent?
I used to play the cello in the La Jolla Symphony. Nowadays, my only captive audience is my boys.

What’s your biggest job perk?
Visiting with patients—I get to see them every six months and catch up on their lives and families.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
My family loves Taqueria El Dorado—it’s fast, cheap and delicious!

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
One of our favorite places is Henningsen Lotus Park. It’s 45 minutes away but worth the drive. We love hiking, throwing rocks in the river, and waving to the whitewater rafters.

And finally, customer service is…?
Taking the time to listen and understand the needs and expectations of my patients, and then following through to meet them.
