A: The most important thing is to be comfortable with the surgeon and the procedure you have selected. You should ask questions regarding the reasons for choosing that specific procedure, the expected results, and the typical recovery process. Is the surgeon a specialist in that area? How many surgeries has he or she performed? Was the consultation informative and were all of your questions answered? Go with your gut. If you have confidence in the expertise of your surgeon, a good understanding of the procedure, and informative preoperative appointments—your procedure and recovery should be smooth sailing.
