Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

My salon and spa found me. The location was a collaboration of a few wonderful people in my life.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

I graduated from business school and learned right away that I was meant to be of service to others and at the same time use my business skills.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I have been a search and rescue volunteer (canine unit) for more than 25 years. The sheriff’s department voted me “Volunteer of the Year” and “Professional of the Year.” Last year, I served as president of the Broadway Village Association. My passion is animal rescue—working with many organizations fostering dogs until they find their forever home.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of my daughter and how she is raising socially and environmentally responsible children.

What’s your hidden talent?

Dancing.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

We have several places that I really enjoy—Smith Flat House, Bricks, and Cascada for their great food and friendly service.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Sled riding with my dad and then cooking great food with my mom.  

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

The Lighthouse for gifts and jewelry; Foothill Printing and Design for all of my business needs.

If you could be any other profession, what would it be?

A wildlife photographer.

Simple—be kind and caring. Serve like you would want to be served.
