Q: A plumbing accident soaked my carpet. What are my options? Can my carpet be saved?

A: There are two separate scenarios. If you have a clean water line or a supply line that breaks in your home, then yes, your carpet can be cleaned and saved—as long as the backing of the carpet hasn’t delaminated (split into layers). If the water came from the top of the toilet, however, this is considered black water and the carpet is not salvageable (due to the number of contaminates in the water). It cannot be guaranteed to be safe, even with our high-powered truck-mounted cleaning systems.
