Main Street’s Placerville Coffee Depot is a great place to grab a fresh cup of hot or iced brew, but I was in the mood for a sweet treat on the occasion of my first visit and searched the menu for something that would hit the spot without causing a sugar rush.

The Cinnamon Crunch Muffin caught my eye, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the $2 delight. The spicy warmth of cinnamon blended perfectly with the moist, buttery consistency of every fresh-baked bite and left my taste buds dreaming of festive fall foods to come. I washed it down with a 20 oz. Arnold Palmer and ordered two oatmeal raisin cookies to go, so imagine my surprise when the bill came to just $4.75. That’s right – I quenched my thirst and more than satisfied a serious craving for baked goods for less than a fiver. The Placerville Coffee Depot, which also offers breakfast combinations and smoothies at its convenient drive thru and walk-up windows, will keep me coming back thanks to a welcome combination of high-quality eats, affordable prices and stellar customer service.
