Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I have been an animal lover my entire life. Back in 2000, I took care of some friend’s cats while they were on vacation, and it was so rewarding! I knew then that pet sitting was for me.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

I was a cashier at a fast-food chain. I learned it was necessary to listen to what the person wanted, as well as to be professional and polite. Customers are the ones who pay the employee’s salary.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I’m a volunteer with Big Brothers and Sisters; my little sister is nine, and hanging out with her is great!

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Getting a business article published in Opportunity World Magazine. It offered tips on how to promote your business.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My husband Rick – he’s taught me a lot about opening and running a business and is very patient and encouraging.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

To exercise – I love Zumba and all kinds of dancing.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Receiving warm kisses and hugs from my new cat and dog friends.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

To Bear Dog Park in Roseville. Salsa, our Chihuahua, loves playing with the other pups.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Blacktop Comedy in Roseville – it’s a great way to spend an evening. I love the cast.

And finally, customer service is…?

Each of my clients is very important. When I’m taking care of their pet, I go the extra mile to make them smile!
