When I entered the local favorite, KT Noodle, I knew I was in for a home-cooked, mouth-watering meal.

This family-run restaurant in Rocklin is filled with healthy, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. My dish of choice, Tofu with Vegetable Steam Pot, was drowned in a delicious coconut milk sauce and filled with fresh mushrooms, broccoli, carrots and fried tofu. It was served alongside a bowl of piping hot steamed rice, which complemented the textures and flavors inside my pot of goodness. The spice essences exploded in my mouth, giving my taste buds a little zest of Vietnam. The tofu was abundant and perfectly absorbed the coconut milk’s creaminess, while the veggies added a nice crunch and burst of brightness to the dish. The generous portion can easily serve two people; however, it’s tasty enough to finish by yourself, and at $6.25 you don’t have to feel guilty. At the end of your meal, you will be treated not only with the bill but an unexpected “dessert” – a freshly sliced orange and a fortune cookie.
