Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

It definitely found me. I built a pizza oven in my backyard years ago, and we were always having people over throwing pizza parties. One day I had a Field of Dreams – “if you build it, they will come” – moment and a few Web searches later I found a company that was just starting to build these types of trailers.

What was the first job you had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My mom ran group homes and summer camps for mentally challenged people, and I worked as a counselor. It taught me a lot about diversity and patience.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

My passion for cooking pizza allows me to fundraise by partnering with schools, churches and local youth sports. It allows me to establish new relationships while helping organizations raise money.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Being a family-owned business, I work with my wife a lot. We have tons of fun together and often get comments on our playful interaction with each other.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have three amazing children who inspire me with their selflessness.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Hearing the feedback from customers when they try my pizza; also, I save on haircuts by frequently leaning in too close to my fire and singeing off eyebrows and hair.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

La Fornaretta in Newcastle.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

My father passed away when I was 10 years old, and I would like to have a few minutes with him to catch up.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Carpe Vino in Auburn.
