Never employees to turn down a healthy meal, Style recently had bento boxes delivered to the office.

Kenko Box Lunches – a Folsom-based delivery and catering service offering Japanese cuisine to Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Roseville and El Dorado Hills – didn’t disappoint. For those unfamiliar with “bento,” they are single-portioned takeout or home-packed Japanese meals. I ordered the popular BBQ Salmon Box with two gyozas (potstickers), three California roll pieces, and a side of lightly seasoned steamed veggies. My hibachi salmon was moist and tender with just the right amount of sweet and tangy BBQ glaze, and the accompanying side of wasabi-teriyaki sauce added the perfect amount of heat. I also snagged a few bites of Asian Noodle Salad, a vegan specialty featuring springy buckwheat and green tea noodles…delicious! With completely customizable bento options like Grilled Shrimp and Chicken Teriyaki , plus an array of specialty rolls, Kenko appeals to a variety of tastes and diets. Owner/Chef Kenny Demarest makes something for even the healthiest of eaters, including brown rice, quinoa, vegan, and gluten-free items. Overall, the flavorful lunch left me comfortably full and energized for the rest of the workday. Kenko Box Lunches, 916-833-4143, kenkoboxlunches.com.
