Why We Dig It: Family-owned with a festive atmosphere and always-friendly service, Mexquite has been voted “Favorite Mexican Restaurant” in Style’s Readers’ Choice issue for the past four years. Why We Dig It: Chicago Fire brought authentic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza to our neighborhood. And for that, we are forever grateful. Why We Dig It: The Fat’s Family of Restaurants are longstanding area institutions, serving up fresh Asian fusion fare amidst lush, modern décor. Fat’s Asia Bistro provides an upscale atmosphere and contemporary Asian cuisine. Why We Dig It: With spacious patio dining, Wasabi is just the place to come and unwind, breathe in the fresh air and relax after a crazy day at the office. Why We Dig It: Located in Historic Folsom in the beautiful Folsom Electric Building, Sutter Street Steakhouse’s magnificently appointed leather booths and fine steakhouse fare is truly a gem in the area. Their much-desired Happy Hour is met with numerous regulars at their 4:30 p.m. opening. Select wines and martinis are $5.50, and all draft beer is just $3. The Deal: Monday-Friday 4 to 6 p.m. Named the Hundred Mile Happy Hour, Samuel Horne’s Tavern has all beers brewed within a hundred miles of them at 50% off during happy hour. There are typically six to eight brews that fall under that category, and all the other beers are $1 off. They also have wine by the glass and cocktails starting at $6 and weekly cocktail specials. As far as food goes, appetizers cost on average between $3 to $5 and you can enjoy choices such as chips and dip, chili cheese fries, and one of the most popular choices, bacon and blue cheese French fries.
