The Spot: Fat’s Asia Bistro
The Deal: Monday-Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; select beer, wine and appetizer specials
Why We Dig It: The Fat’s Family of Restaurants are longstanding area institutions, serving up fresh Asian fusion fare amidst lush, modern décor. Fat’s Asia Bistro provides an upscale atmosphere and contemporary Asian cuisine. Their Happy Hour is one not to be missed, with $5 house Chardonnay and Cabernet, a plethora of $2.75 domestic draft beer options, and discounted appetizers including $7 Blackened Ahi, $9 Dim Sum Baskets and $7 Mongolian Baby Back Ribs. The Spot: Pete’s Restaurant and Brewhouse

Why We Dig It: With six handcrafted “Pete’s” brews including Uptown Ale and Old Town Red, and with a diverse menu of pizzas, pastas, steak and burgers, Pete’s has something for everyone. Come in during Happy Hour for $9 pitchers, food specials – including a large, one-topping pizza for $9.99 or a one-topping, personal pizza for $3.99 – and a good time! Why We Dig It: French-Mediterranean cuisine, creekside terrace seating and an interior that mimics a French countryside estate, La Provence provides a unique and delicious dining experience. Try the Pates de Fromage et Jambon Gratinee (spiral mac-n-cheese baked with smoked ham), Pissaladiere Brie Pipérade (pizza in the Provencal style) or the Brochette d’Onglet (marinated hangar steak grilled and served on Caesar salad).

The Spot: Crush 29

Why We Dig It: Dimly lit in speakeasy style, The Club Car’s “Hard Times Chow” Happy Hour offers a fun way to wind down after a workday. Known for their burgers and brew, cool vibe and live music nights, their $5 Bailout Burger can’t be beat. They also have $3.50 cocktail specials that include Poor Bastards – Myer’s Rum, ginger ale and lime, and Speakeasy Slings – sloe gin, sour mix and soda with a splash of cherry brandy. The Spot: McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant

Why We Dig It: Appetizers for $2.95 and so much more! In the bar area only, enjoy Crispy Fried Zucchini Sticks, Calamari Fries, and Spicy Chicken Quesadillas for just $2.95. Why We Dig It: Water views, exquisite American dishes, excellent service and home-brewed beer round out this upscale-casual locale. Why We Dig It: One word: garlic. Is there anything better than the robust flavor that enhances any dish? Yes, there is. Why We Dig It: With 20 rotating beers on tap (list changes regularly), a variety of imported and domestic bottled beer, a selection of wine by the glass, and an assortment of pub fare – from American comfort food like Mac & Cheese to Hummus Plates and Italian Cheese and Pepperoni Flatbread – Boneshaker is a cozy Rocklin spot where friendly faces abound. The Spot: Mary’s Pizza Shack

The Deal: Monday-Friday 3 to 6 p.m., Daily 8 p.m. to close. Try one of their four draft beers that are brewed in house- the Hefeweizen, red amber ale, dark lager, or the pale ale- for just $3. Well drinks are also just $3 and all wine by the glass is $2 off except for their house wines. Mary’s Cocktails and “Shackatinis,” which are unique cocktails you will only find at an individual Mary’s, are $5.50 each. House wine by the glass and well drinks are $3, and the Long Island Iced Tea and margaritas are $4.50. You also get $2 off all signature appetizers, which range around $5.99 to $6.99 on average. Specialty drinks range from $4 to $6, well drinks are $3.50, and beer ranges from $2 to $10 depending on whether you get a mug or a pitcher, as well as what kind you order. Wine by the glass is $4 and every night there is a special such as ladies night on Wednesdays or Industry night on Sundays. Appetizers range from $3-$6 and sandwiches range from $4 to $7. The Spot: On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina

The Deal: 3 to 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close Daily. Enjoy 12-ounce domestic draft beers for $2.50 or the 18-ounce domestic draft beers are $3.50. The house margarita is $4 for the 12-ounce or $5 for the 18-ounce. If you want the house fruit margarita instead, it is just $.50 more than the regular house margarita for the same size.
