Folsom resident Glory Albin discovered her passion for baking at a young age while making piecrusts and cookies in her mother’s kitchen.

“We’d enter baked goods into the fair, and the prize money would be our spending money for the year,” Albin says. Later in life, after a successful eight-year career as a florist, Albin transitioned to a stay-at-home mom, but she soon began to seek a new outlet for her creative energies. After taking baking classes at the City of Folsom’s Parks and Recreation Department, she rediscovered her love for decorating baked goods. “It was like a light went off in my head,” Albin says. “It was so fun; I thought, I could totally do this!”

She went on to found Glorious Treats (glorioustreats.blogspot.com), a blog dedicated to sharing recipes and baking tips with the world. The blog is so popular, it even caught the attention of The Martha Stewart Show, which featured Albin and her circle of baking friends in an episode last year.

Albin credits her success to her husband, who supported her through the hard work it took to bring her creative vision to life. “He has always believed in me,” Albin says.  “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without him.”
