Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

We are a retail store selling home and garden décor. The business definitely found us. We have always loved to travel and shop and frequently come across unique pieces. It was always a goal of ours to have our own store, and when a location opened up close to our house we decided to go for it. We keep our prices affordable and also offer direct buy and consignment; in addition, customers can view the inventory on our Web site.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Besides owning our own store, we are also extremely proud of our two boys, and buying our first house in Shingle Springs in 2010. We both grew up in the area and are so happy to raise our kids here.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

We are lucky that both of our parents live only a few minutes away from us. We are close with both of them, and they are always there for us when we need them.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Shopping for a living and working together! We can go out together looking for pieces to paint or fix up and buy merchandise to resell. It’s so fun to redo pieces ourselves and see the customers’ excitement.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We like all the local parks and trails in the area. The two boys have lots of energy so it’s nice to take them outside to run around!

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

We like to go to the El Dorado County Fair with our boys. There’s so much to do there…it’s a lot of fun!

And finally, customer service is...?

Making your customers happy. We do this by keeping affordable prices, having customer wish lists, and getting to know our customers personally.
