Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I was born knowing I was going to be a florist.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

When I was 16, I sold flowers at Abel’s Apple Acres. Hard work paid off and I sold out every weekend.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I provide donations whenever they are needed; I find that having compassion for my community always keeps loyal customers coming back.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

They are all family and know what’s at stake if we fail.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My two children; also, I recently learned that a line of home fragrances (sold at very high-end retailers) was designed with the smell of my flower shop in mind.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

Stevie Nicks – she is powerful, feminine and I can relate to her.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

My home is my sanctuary.

What’s your hidden talent?

Cooking. I love making delicious meals for my family.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Taking my entire family to a delightful dinner at Sequoia every year right before Christmas.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Joanie’s Café & Grill.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

Regal Cinemas.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Picking my grandpa’s flowers.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Stevie Nicks, because of my unexplained emotional connection to her.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

The Bookery.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

A writer.

And finally, customer service is…?

All I think about.
