Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Body Concepts is a physical therapy, Pilates, cycling and swimming studio. We help people move better and faster – through our expertise, personal attention to each client, and educating people about their body while we treat or train them.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We love learning about the interests and skills of our clients and exchanging information about topics unrelated to our business, including gardening, travel, food, inventions, etc. We also regularly offer free informational presentations; we recently wrapped up a free running presentation with local physicians, chiropractors, a massage therapist, nutritionist and our staff.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

We always put the client first. Every member of our staff is personally committed to this business philosophy and has the expertise to provide excellent service. Plus, we all really like each other, making for a relaxed and happy work environment.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud that I am a great friend; also, I’m proud of earning my college degree. I have worked ever since I was a child and all those long work hours made attending college on the side a challenge. When I finally got my degree, I was so happy that I shamelessly cried during the entire graduation ceremony.

What’s your hidden talent?

My intuition.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Having a full Pilates studio at my disposal.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

The bike trails, Lake Natoma for rowing, and Folsom Lake for swimming.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Skipping along on a windy day with an umbrella – a big gust of wind carried me for a long moment and I felt like I was flying.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Physicist Richard Feynman. He was brilliant, a great teacher, and he thought about the world differently than most people. I hear he had a wicked sense of humor, too.

And finally, customer service is…?

Always, and I mean always, putting the client first.
