It’s the New Year and Style is happy to congratulate Roseville’s Martin Neft, M.D., for being named “Physician of the Year” at Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation’s Donor Appreciation event. Congrats!
“Ask an Expert” Day is slated for January 14, at which members of the community are invited to ask the City of Roseville’s utility and electric workers, plus its master gardeners, questions about landscaping, water conservation, energy efficiency and more. For details, visit roseville.ca.us.

The Sutter Roseville Medical Center has finally completed their $8-million dollar expansion – which has increased the number of beds by 42 percent – and added a new full kitchen and second dining room!.
For the second year in a row, Kaiser Permanente’s Roseville Medical Center was named a “Top Leapfrog Hospital.” The hospital was chosen from nearly 1,200 throughout the country and honored for their excellence in safety, efficiency, appropriate staffing and more. Bravo!.
Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Sutter Roseville Medical Center and Sutter Health, all donated $10,000 to the Nevada Food Bank and Placer Food Bank. These funds will help provide healthy meals to families in need.
A big shout out to Roseville High School’s junior varsity volleyball team for becoming Co-SFL champions!.
 A big congrats goes to the Granite Bay Grizzlies football team who won the CIF Sac Joaquin Section Division I title this past December 3rd!.
 Last month, Placer County officials confirmed that Walmart is planning to open a grocery store at Sierra Oaks Shopping Center in Granite Bay; however, the proposed store will likely not be a full-sized Walmart, but rather a scaled-down version.
The Fountains at Roseville and CBS Sacramento recently announced a partnership that will give viewers a bird’s-eye view of the shopping center during newscasts; this is the first CBS camera placement in Placer County.
Congratulations to Granite Bay’s Scott Hagel for being appointed chairman of the board of the YMCA of Superior California for 2012.
