Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Compass Strategies, Inc. is your guide to online marketing success. We work with organizations to help them establish a professional Web presence, and position their businesses for the highest visibility. We provide Web site design and maintenance, search engine optimization, pay-per-click program management, and social media marketing. I also offer marketing training and coaching on melding the latest technology with traditional marketing strategies. This business found me when I taught myself how to build a Web site for another business that I owned. A colleague asked if I could help build a new Web site for a nonprofit she was working for; that was in 2004, and to this day, they remain a client!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I love working with nonprofits, assisting them with their online marketing and fundraising efforts. I work with the Kiwanis Family House in Sacramento and the Fat Kitty City Animal Sanctuary here in El Dorado Hills.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Because my staff and I all work virtually, they need great communication skills to keep projects on track and exceed the customer’s needs. They are focused on customer service and take great pride in their contributions to the success of the client’s business.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My marriage to my best friend, Bob. I love you, man!

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My role models were my parents; they always assured me that I could do anything I put my mind to.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Bidwell Street Bistro in Folsom; Twin’s Sushi in Cameron Park; and Relish Burger Bar and Ruffhaus Hot Dog Co., both in El Dorado Hills.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We love to take out-of-town guests to the wineries of El Dorado and Amador Counties.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is truly listening to your customers, addressing their individual needs and always exceeding expectations.
