Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Kindermusik With Mr. D & Friends is about kids, parents and teachers all coming together to have a great time in a musically enriched environment. We help give children a lifelong love of music and a foundation for learning. Our program is research based and demonstrates the benefits of music at each stage of a child’s development. Our classes provide music and activities that stimulate a child’s mind, body and sense of play. I have been a music performer since a young child and have been involved in some way with children’s music programs for 30 years. I also possess a natural gift for playing music, and after watching my grandson benefit from music classes it was an easy decision to become a Kindermusik instructor.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My one employee, who is also a licensed Kindermusik instructor, is my daughter Rachel. She handles all of the administration and also teaches classes. Following in the footsteps of her mother and I, Rachel has been singing in front of church audiences since she was a young child and has continued her musical training through adulthood. Rachel’s love for teaching babies and children is expressed every time she teaches a class, and she captivates her students with her outgoing and cheerful personality.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My family, college education and musical talent.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?  In prayer to God.

What’s your hidden talent?

Motorcycle mechanics, redesign and fabrication.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

The movies.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

And finally, customer service is…?

Creating a personal relationship with our clients and learning to tap into the different learning styles of all children, as we strive to provide a trusted music and movement program for area families.
