Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Driver Please is a personal driver service. We provide screened, insured drivers that drive you in your own car for about half the cost of a taxi, and significantly below the cost of a limo or town car. Driver Please definitely found me. I started the business because there weren’t affordable transportation options for people that can’t or don’t want to drive themselves. I used a personal driver for over 15 years and found that many friends started to use him also. The “ah ha” moment came when I was introduced to someone at a party and they told me they had been using “my driver” and loved the concept. I thought, “There is a business here.” The gratifying thing has been how many different uses people have for a personal driver. In addition to the obvious – avoiding drinking and driving – we have many clients that are elderly and don’t feel comfortable driving, and clients that can’t drive for medical reasons. We take clients to doctor’s appointments, shopping, to San Francisco for a show or Giants game, wine tasting, concerts, fun nights out and more – you name it.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We help keep people who should not be driving off the road.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

Each driver is rigorously screened (criminal background check, DMV record review, personal interview, reference check) and we take great effort to hire friendly, attentive drivers who understand how to deliver remarkable customer service. After dropping clients off at their desired location, our drivers will run the person’s errands, get the car washed or wait in the vehicle until the customer is ready to go. Drivers are truly “at your service.”

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

Paddleboarding on Folsom Lake.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

The Yard House – great food and a beer selection that is unparalleled.

And finally, customer service is…?

Being passionate about the customer experience.
