Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Blossoms & Balloons Florist is a local florist that specializes in making events beautiful with flowers. My love for flowers found me a perfect occupation in the floral industry.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

In high school I decided I wanted to be a florist and enrolled in the florist/landscaping ROP program. I interned for one year at a florist in Citrus Heights; the owner has been my friend and mentor ever since.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I have always kept in touch with the community by volunteering with the City boards and commissions, serving as a member and volunteer for the chamber of commerce, and with the school districts as a volunteer on special committees and school site councils.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My staff members have always been flower and people lovers, which is the best combination for the industry.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Adopting my two beautiful daughters.

What’s your hidden talent?

The vision of color.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Nothing better than a sandwich from Better Foods Deli…yum!

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Spending Sundays in the summer with my family at the river.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Placer County Fair.

Number one for making business fun.
