Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Ryde On Motorsports rents the three-wheeled Can Am Spyder from four hours up to a week. My business definitely found me. It came about when my wife said she would only get on a motorcycle if it had three wheels. The next day I looked into renting a Spyder and found there were no places to rent one in our area, so I thought, “Why not start a business to rent these cool rides?” I went to Twin Cities Motorsports and they helped me get my first Spyder.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I spend a lot of time with my two boys in both Cub Scouts Pack 29 and Boy Scouts Troop 29. I am the Webmaster for both and I help out with community events such as the pancake breakfast at Hot Chili Cool Cars, as well as Relay for Life, Scouting for Food and many other events.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My wife, who I’ve been married to for over 22 years, and our two wonderful boys; also, proudly serving in the Coast Guard Reserve for 30 years.

What’s your hidden talent?

I enjoy cabinet making. I had a cabinet business for a few years before I was married and still enjoy building on occasion.

And finally, customer service is…?

Serving the customer how you would want to be served. It’s the little things that make a big difference – calling the customer back in a timely manner, being courteous on the phone, and sending a “thank you” to let customers know you appreciate their business. These little things mean a great deal to the client. Customer service is the lifeblood of business, and since much of my business is by word of mouth, I strive to make it one of my top priorities.
