Primo Pizza, Burger & Brew

Hungry for lunch and ready to try something new, my friend and I decided to give Primo Pizza, Burger & Brew a go.

As we entered the eatery, nestled in a small Rocklin shopping center, the staff at their large granite and stone bar welcomed us. Glancing around at the snazzy space’s four flat-screen TVs, I quickly noted this as an ideal spot for game-watching and socializing with friends.

Once we settled in at our table, our friendly waitress helped us navigate the menu – appetizers, burgers, pizza, sandwiches and pastas – pointing out some of the house specialties. In addition to their regular menu, they also offer lunch specials featuring pasta, pizza, sliders and a few other selections, served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A great value for good food!

With so many options, I decided on the Primo Deluxe Burger. Served on their signature bun alongside seasoned fries, the juicy burger was topped with fresh avocado slices, crispy applewood-smoked bacon, melted jack cheese, lettuce and tomato. Tasty and perfectly cooked, this was one of the best local burgers that I’ve ever had! My friend ordered the Pizza Supremo lunch with a cup of homemade minestrone soup. Pepperoni, salami, sausage, linguisa, ham, red onions, mushrooms, olives, green bell peppers, artichoke hearts and melted cheese covered the perfectly crisp and light pizza. To end the meal, we tried the special dessert of the day – Lemon Berry Cake. Served with strawberry sauce, whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle, it provided a much-needed sweet ending to our delicious, savory meal.

Judging from the lunch crowd, Primo’s has already become a local favorite. I plan on making several trips back to try more of their mouthwatering fare! •
