Dick Frantzreb loves a live, local show!

And his passion spills over into a much-needed community service – getting the word out on excellent local performances. As a human resources expert, Frantzreb built a career on helping people. Now retired, he still offers his services by entertaining and informing the citizens of our area. “What drives me is finding opportunities to enrich the lives of others,” Frantzreb explains. He radiates energy and enthusiasm as he explains how he sings and serves as president of the Sierra Community Chorus, performs in his church choir and tours with Mastersingers USA. Frantzreb is a cool guy.

Since local theater and singing groups have a hard time getting the word out on performances, Frantzreb created and meticulously maintains a Web site (placerperformancecalendar.com) – dedicated to listing local performances throughout our immediate area. He monitors 90 sites to see what’s happening and grabs the information, instead of relying on overworked volunteers to provide it to him like some community-based calendars. He knows that most groups have enough to do putting on a first-class production. “Some groups are struggling to get the word out,” he says. Frantzreb also blogs (greatlocalshows.blogspot.com) show reviews that you can trust.
