For 13 years, Laurie Andreoni has lived and worked in Folsom as a chiropractor.

For the past two years, though, she has also been designing and selling high fashion turbans for women. This may seem like a huge jump, but Andreoni’s passion for fashion and flare for color inspired her to brainstorm the business when she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer in 2008. “Cancer absolutely altered my life,” says Andreoni. “I had a lot of support and tried to find creative ways to get through the treatments. I’m still a chiropractor but [cancer] shifted things and made me want to give back.”

After receiving compliments for her stylish head wraps, and feedback from other patients that turbans were difficult to wrap, Andreoni decided that this was an area where she could give back. Enter Titillating Turbans (titillatingturbans.com) – colorful, multi-functional and easy-to-wrap, head turbans. “For me, every day, my accessories became an art project. When you lose your hair, there goes your self-image. I really wanted to share my creativity with other women to take away that added stress.” From elegant jewelry and purses to a chemo-treatment tote bag filled with essentials, Andreoni has thought of every way possible to make it easy for a woman to get through cancer still feeling beautiful and comfortable.
