Bassil Kamas

Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I specialize in deep tissue, sports, neck and shoulder massage. After my two car accidents, it found me. I wanted to help others because I was in so much pain.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was working at the Spanish embassy issuing visas at the age of 16. It taught me to pay attention to details.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I volunteer my time and services by doing chair massages at every charity event, fundraiser and crab feed. I usually do about 30 events a year. I love giving back to the community.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

I always update myself with the latest in massage therapy practices. But at the end of the day, people always feel my heart through my hands.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Being married for 17 years and being a dad; winning the KCRA A-list the last three years; and having my weekly radio show, Thursdays with Bassil on kahi.com and AM950.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My father. He taught me to be strong without being arrogant, and humble without being weak.

What’s your hidden talent?

I write and direct short films, and I also write comedies.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

A trip we took to Europe for three months in a car.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Any charity event, especially ones at the Folsom Community Center where it’s very cozy and personal.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is attending to the client’s needs – listening to what they want and always remembering that the customer is always, always, always right!
