Describe your business.

Carnahan Electric Ltd. has 30 years of experience in electrical contracting; and we have been dealing with alternative electrical systems, such as solar, generators and fuel cells, for 11 years.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was delivering The Sacramento Bee when I was 10 years old, and I learned it is cold on Sunday mornings in the rain. I also learned that some people don’t pay their bills, while others gladly do with a tip for the very same service.

How are you involved with both the community and the customer?

I am involved with the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce. We like happy customers as they are our best advertisement.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

We are a team. Most began their career with me, and others have been recruited to fit in where they are needed.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have three sons, a daughter, and nine grandkids who all add to the quality of life in the El Dorado Foothills.

Where do you head when the going gets tough?

I head to the mountains or desert for some alone time.

What’s your hidden talent?

I am able to look past what appears to be the obvious.

What’s your biggest job perk?

The biggest perk is watching businesses and employees flourish.

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

We water ski in the Crystal Basin and snow ski in the Sierra.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Working and playing on my grandpa Dixon’s cattle ranch is my favorite memory.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

I like Placerville and Pleasant Valley Ace Hardware the best.

And finally, customer service is…?

Why we are so successful.
