Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

A little of both. I bought the business in 2006 when the previous owner moved to Chicago. It has grown substantially since then and we are incredibly fortunate.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

In addition to running the business, I volunteer as much as possible. Currently, I am a hospice volunteer and a youth mentor, both of which bring me absolute joy. Volunteering is an excellent way to give back to the community, as well as keep things in perspective in one’s own life.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My staff is loyal, dedicated, conscientious and incredibly loving. Clients want to feel comfortable and secure with the care their animals receive, and we ensure that is the case every time.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My sons. They are amazingly empathetic, sweet boys. They make me proud everyday and they are incredibly good to me.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Sweetie Pie’s in Placerville.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Maya Angelou. I would love to soak up as much of her wisdom and grace as possible. I think I’d be a better person for just having met her.

And finally, customer service is…?

I live by the philosophy: “Leave things (and people) better than you found them.” So far, it’s paying off well. We have a significant presence in the community with a good reputation and that is very important to me.

Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased? In fact, our Introducing and Dine reviews are not paid advertisements.
