Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

New Unto You is a consignment boutique with new and like-new clothing in sizes 0-20. We also have a huge selection of formal and semi-formal wear. The business and I found each other; it’s like we are meant to be. As I started forming New Unto You, it quickly came alive and everything fell into place, as if it was exactly where I needed to be.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My father. He retired from law enforcement and worked so hard. His job was high stress and he worked long hours, but always took the time to go over my math homework with me and talk to me about life in general. I admired his high work ethic, even as a very young girl, and learned the importance of hard work and doing your personal best every single day, even when you don’t want to. Hard work definitely pays off.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I run right to my church. There is nothing better than a warm smile and awesome worship. Well, honestly, I run there when things are going good too!

Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?

I’m going to sound really boring, but my girls and I can spend hours at Borders on a Friday night. I go straight to the business section and they are all over the place.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Back when we used lunchboxes (my favorite was a Holly Hobby box), my mom packed my lunches, and I can still smell my bologna and cheese sandwich now.

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is about relationships; it’s about being real. Not just a smile because you have too, but a smile because you really care about who the person is that walks through your door.
