Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

As I say on my Web site, many years ago I went through my own process of healing using hypnosis. I had always been focused on growth, but only through hypnotherapy was I able to truly change my life. I was so happy with the results that I became a hypnotherapist to help others.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was selling shoes at Sears. I learned the importance of customer service and listening to the wants of the customer, even when it meant fitting a size 9 into a size 6 shoe!

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the fact that I have never lost my joy of life or optimistic nature. I have an intense desire for self-growth and knowledge that I bring into my sessions.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Great salads at Mr. Pickles; sandwiches at Subways; burgers at In & Out; and Mexican just about anywhere. I have simple tastes!

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Spending time with my family on the beaches of Puget Sound in Washington State. I was too young to care that the water was freezing or the barnacles sharp. Growing up on the water was wonderful.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

Working for the National Park Service. My first masters degree was in Geology, but even though I eventually earned a masters in counseling psychology, I would have enjoyed being able to share my love of geology with others as a guide and speaker.

And finally, customer service is…?

Everything. My business is service, so it’s essential to remember that people want to be heard. They want to know that someone is on their side. When clients come in they want help in resolving their issue and learning how to change their behaviors.
