Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I saw the movie Breaking Away in my teens and was hooked. In more recent years, it was obvious that this was my passion and it made sense to make it my profession.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

Mowing lawns in the summer. I learned early on that I should find work suited to my passions and interests.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

My two incredible children; helping create the Everpure Racing Team in the early 90s; and being the 1984 California junior college state champion in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

My father. He is a legend in his industry and helped create a multimillion-dollar business from nothing, all while in his 60s.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I ride and/or race my bike.

What’s your hidden talent?

Singing.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Working on the finest bicycles in the world. It is a joy to show up every day at my shop.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Riding a bike without training wheels for the first time.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Well, I’ve already met Eddy Merckx, so I would have to say St. Francis of Assisi or the Dalai Lama.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

Folsom Cyclebration and the other local bike races (Folsom Criterium and Golden State Criterium).

And finally, customer service is…?

Almost unimaginably important. My entire business is based on it.
