Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

My business offers personalized hair services in a private environment, without the chaos of a typical salon. I definitely found it; I never gave it a chance to find me! I was looking for a new career and channeled my passion for the beauty industry into doing hair. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and knew that I had to work for myself in a unique environment.

What was the first job you ever had, and what did you learn from the experience?

My first job was a “gopher” in an orthodontist’s office. I learned the importance of being punctual and keeping records. I also learned that the boss liked coffee at 4 p.m. every day and it was my job to go get it!

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I am very active in both the Roseville and Rocklin Chambers of Commerce and volunteer for as many community events as I can. I love learning about my clients’ lives and businesses and connecting them with other clients if they can benefit one another.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

There are so many wonderful options in this area! For Mexican, I love Rudy’s Gourmet Mexican; breakfast is always the Original Pancake House; and you can’t beat the burgers, fries and fried pickles at The Counter!

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Abraham Lincoln. What an amazing story of opportunity – a man who came from so little, then rose to greatness and did amazing things for our country.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

SPLASH, Roseville’s biggest party of the year, held every September at the Roseville Aquatics Complex.

And finally, customer service is…?

Critical. If you can’t provide top-notch customer service, your business will not survive.
