Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

Both of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers were village builders in England…so I guess you could say we were born into it.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

We’re currently helping to keep the Folsom Public Library open on Sundays by being part of a volunteer group.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Moving our business and lives to America.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

Our backyard. Mike has made it a real retreat and I marvel at our good luck every minute I spend in it.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Traveling the country to attend trade shows and conventions to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and products.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Our backyard…with Mike doing the cooking!

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

During school holidays I would help my father – we spent one day picking paint colors, tiles and appliances as usual, and when we went to present them to the client, I discovered he was Eric Clapton. It was from this job I learned the necessity for integrity and discretion and that every client should be treated like a star.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Richard Branson, the British industrialist and explorer. I love his work ethic and admire his success.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Manderes in Folsom. Brent knows all about customer service and has made a successful business in very difficult times.
