This holiday season brings the community a 2-day Christmas home tour of six El Dorado Hills’ estates. The Assistance League of Sierra Foothills, a non-profit organization benefiting local children and seniors, will present the first annual “Homes for the Holidays” tour on December 3 and 4. Looking for some laughs? This month, Tommy T’s Comedy & Dinner Theatre in Rancho Cordova will feature Jay Mohr from Jerry Maguire! The comedian will perform on December 3, 4 and 5, so make sure to check it out! The theatre also hosts Open Mic Monday Nights, with a $2 admission and all-night happy hour! Congratulations to the El Dorado Hills’ business Kidz Gear for their win of Creative Child Magazine’s 2010 Award for “Kids Product of the Year” in the Kids Electronic Gear Category. The Gallery at 48 Natoma is displaying the Annual Folsom Focus Photography Contest! Continuing through January 13, 2011, the competition will showcase over 200 photographs, from which the winning pieces were chosen. Call the Gallery at 916-355-7285 to learn more.

The Sacramento Valley National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) celebrated its 13th Annual Outstanding Women Leaders Awards Banquet at the Doubletree Sacramento Hotel on October 21. Various woman business owners and leaders in the business community were honored and recognized for their achievements, including Mary Donnelly of Our House Gallery & Framing in El Dorado Hills and Deirdre Hawkins of Hawkins School of Performing Arts in Folsom. Congratulations to all the nominees!

Tickets are now available for the spring 2011 season at Three Stages at Folsom Lake College, a new visual and performing arts center opening in February. “A Chorus Line: The National Tour” kicks off the grand opening weekend February 11, followed by performances and talks featuring the Joffrey Ballet, Gloria Steinem, Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and more.
