DECEMBER

Donate a toy for a child
When buying a present for your child this year, pick up a second one and donate to a local toy drive, like the one offered by the North Roseville REC Center (northrosevillereccenter.org).

JANUARY

Make a New Year’s resolution to make a small monthly donation to a charity of your choice
Pay it back with a little gift that keeps on giving all year long. Consider local charities like Hands for Hope in El Dorado Hills (hands4hopeyouth.org).

MARCH

Donate a bike
Granite Bay’s Cycles 4 Hope provides bicycles and bicycle parts to homeless adults and children so they can have better transportation to work, food or shelters. Visit them at cycles4hope.org.

Become a docent at the Folsom Zoo Sanctuary

Spend a summer Friday picking up litter in your neighborhood
Make your block beautiful with a little TLC.

AUGUST

Support a local artist
Add a painting, sketch or piece of sculpture to your home and enjoy something created by a talented artist in your community.
