Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I produce musical sing-along DVDs for older seniors living at home or in care facilities. This business grew out of performing live sing-along programs and playing piano at skilled nursing facilities. The senior participants enjoyed the experience so much that they encouraged me to tape a program so others could join in the fun. Front Row Seat Videos started in 1998. Now my products sell in many senior catalogs nationwide and on amazon.com. I started as a volunteer singing and playing piano for seniors…so you never know what volunteering your talents will bring to you!

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am proud of being able to create a business to help seniors and those with disabilities have joy and stimulation through music.

What’s your hidden talent?

My talent is being a patient San Francisco Giants fan. I watch every baseball game they play when I can. Coming from New York, I used to go to the old Polo Grounds with my dad. I honor his memory by rooting for the Giants today.

What’s your biggest job perk?

I still do about 10 live sing-along programs a month, both here and in the Bay Area. I love seeing those with Alzheimer’s/dementia sing along while I play piano, when they often can’t remember the names of their children.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Thai Basil in Roseville.

If you could be any other profession what would it be?

I would be an accountant. My mom was a high school math teacher and I love numbers. They say that music and numbers go hand in hand, and I agree!
