“I get the most fulfillment out of helping people become well-rounded and happy with their life,” says Cynthia Johnson, owner of Easy Fitness 4 U, and trainer at 24 Hour Fitness.

“I really enjoy helping them create a balance.” Johnson makes a point of practicing what she preaches, too. Her supreme physical and mental health, along with her extremely positive attitude, seems to epitomize a balanced life. This is especially incredible considering her recent past. About five years ago, after 28 years of being physically fit and owning a fashion boutique, Johnson became extremely sick with Crohn’s disease and had to sell her business. “I think that most people are surprised to find out that I lost my life as I knew it,” says Johnson. “I had to re-educate myself and rebuild my body later in life. My story and my message of hope and wellness prove that neither age nor illness has to be a death sentence.”

In the past year Johnson trained intensely and decided to compete in the World Tri-Fitness event in Las Vegas, where she won first place in her class (50+) for grace and physique. Upon this great accomplishment, Johnson turned her passion into a profession. “With my new career, I help people create goals for their health and teach them how to get from point A to B,” she says. “The most important thing I’ve found is to incorporate fitness into your daily life…if you like the outdoors as I do, then living in this community makes it very easy to do.”
