September seems like the month we all get settled after a busy summer, however, we’ve got lots to share that will keep you and your family busy nonetheless. Looking for something simple, fun and enjoyable for the whole family? Check out the Olde Coloma Theatre. Look at our Agenda to see days you may catch a fabulous production, or find out more at oldecolomatheatre.com.

Want to try something new? Area high school students should look at the opportunity to learn how to film a documentary with KVIE’s Doc School. This 10-week program will provide students with all the equipment and guidance needed to produce a 5-7 minute documentary. To sign up or find out more, visit documentaryfoundation.org.

Children ages 10-14 also have the opportunity to try their hand at something creative. Take a Quick Sketch/Life Drawing Class with internationally known portrait artist Richard Colburn at El Dorado Arts Council ArtSpace. For session dates, times and costs, visit eldoradoartscouncil.org.

Senior citizens and their caregivers also have various opportunities to attend various informational and support sessions. For dates and times, call the El Dorado County Department of Human Services - Senior Information and Assistance at 530-621-6369.

Boaters take note, and take advantage of something else new – the Caples Lake Boat Launch. The grand opening took place on July 23, but there’s still time for good use with the lovely weather.

Do you enjoy eating in the company of others? Try out the Foothill Foodies, a couples dinner group that meets the second Thursday of each month for this very purpose. For details, call Victoria at 530-295-3333, or Vivian at 530-672-0167.

Need more ideas to help do your part in the community and for the environment? Then get involved this year with the Great Sierra River Cleanup, in connection with the California Coastal Cleanup Day, on September 25. Any and every one is welcome.
