Everyone can appreciate a good night out, especially when it’s in a fun and upbeat atmosphere.

After a very long day at work on a Friday night, a coworker and I were in search of something good and local. Living really close to Folsom Lake, we noticed a restaurant tucked nicely near a shopping center with a jam-packed parking lot. After entering the trendy, well-designed and decorated sports bar and grill, two waiters greeted then led us to our tall pub-style table. Scanning the busy restaurant, I noticed the fully stocked bar, charismatic bartender, 16 high-definition flat screen televisions and an array of sports memorabilia on display.

Gazing at the menu, I saw options for ribs, burgers, steaks, pub-style fish and chips, sandwiches, salads, pasta and seafood. And those who know me know I love all food just about all of the time! In saying this, we started off with an appetizer of the Mario’s Loco Nachos. While waiting, I quickly decided to order one of their Half Time sandwiches for my main event, humorously named “Here Comes The Chicken!” The cleverly crafted sandwich consists of marinated grilled chicken breast, onions, bell pepper, avocado, jack cheese and chipotle cream sauce; it’s served on sourdough bread with crispy French fries and perfectly chilled coleslaw.

After finishing our meals, we sat for a while – due to stomach fullness – and scoped out the environment more. The bar had quickly filled up, and the bartender was working away at serving specialty mixed drinks and a huge selection of beers. Folsom Sports Garage offers 18 beers on tap and a large selection of Tequilas. This is definitely one for the books – as an ideal location to hang out and have a delicious meal with a friend, coworker or family member.
