One of The Fountains at Roseville’s newest hotspots offers the best of Japanese cuisine and an exciting nightlife vibe.

A few Style staffers and I ventured out for lunch to try Sake House on one of the beautiful summer days our area so bountifully affords. Sake House’s sleek interior and ample outdoor lounging space creates an atmosphere that’s fresh, young and vibrant. The chic bar area and modern design draw you into the space almost as much as the delicious fare. The menu is equally as magnificent as the décor, with excellent lunch specials and specialty rolls.

Our indecisive palates proved difficult when it came to ordering, but we opted for multiple dishes to share. We chose a lunch Bento Box with Sesame Chicken, the lunch special - Sushi Combo, and the Jett Roll, accompanied by miso soup and edamame. The Bento Box included three pieces of Gyoza, pan-fried Japanese dumplings, a spicy tuna roll, salad, and Sesame Chicken. The Sushi Combo came with a “chef’s choice” roll, three pieces of nigiri, and another spicy tuna roll. And the Jett Roll, our favorite, was an artfully prepared crab, spicy tuna and cucumber roll topped with seared yellow fin tuna, avocado, scallions, masago and miso cream – sliced into eight pieces of perfection! We each also raved about the salty-sweet tangy salad dressing, and mix of dipping sauces complementing the rolls. We enjoyed a laughter-filled lunch dining on delectable Asian fare.

We also heard that their Happy Hour is hopping and in the evenings the scene heats up as locals come to dine and dance within Sake House’s 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Sake House hosts weekend night DJs and becomes the hottest dance spot in the region. It looks like an after-work visit is in our future!
