Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

In 1984, no longer wanting to travel, we came across a stress-sale opportunity and were able to purchase the business for little down and little per month. It sounded good at the time, and I knew that I would only be in it for a few years. There you go. Be careful what you wish for, I never thought I would be in this for 26 years!

What was your first job, and what did you learn from the experience?

I painted deck railings with my step dad. I felt like one of the boys.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

They are empowered to do what it takes and they are fired with enthusiasm. If this is not evident then I will fire them with enthusiasm.

What life accomplishments are you most proud of?

Escaping Southern California.

Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?

Ronald Reagan – he was not afraid to tell it like it is and he did it with confidence.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Strings Italian Cafe.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

The tennis court.

What’s your biggest job perk?

Clean clothes.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

Paul Martin’s American Bistro.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Arriving at my Grandmothers house for a visit. Only my dog is this happy to see me now.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

California Capitals matches in the summer. We haven’t missed a season since 1992.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

First Northern Bank of Dixon – Ann Diamondstone is the best banker I have ever had.

And finally, customer service is…?

Doing the same thing whether the customer is watching or not.
