Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
We are a husband and wife photography team that specializes in portrait photography of weddings, high school seniors, and children. We have been in business since 1990, and absolutely love creating beautiful memories for our clients. We were fortunate to find our passion early on with the opening of our first studio aptly named Kidshooters Photography, which specialized in fine art children’s photography.
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
Our parents; it sounds like a cliché but it’s true. Our parents laid the foundation for us to succeed. Honesty and integrity have been the cornerstones of what our business has become. That’s why our customers love us so much!
What’s your hidden talent?
To see the good in people. Each of us live our lives with the goal to love and be loved. If we treat each person we meet with this thought in mind, it is easy to connect on a level that makes more friends than the contrary.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
Lucille’s Smokehouse Barbeque in Rocklin. It’s the best BBQ in town!
Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
We love the local lakes during the summer. We love boating and being together to enjoy the Sacramento sunshine!
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
RS: As a kid, I lived in St. Louis, Missouri. We had a large family that every summer would all gather at my grandparent’s home in the Lake of the Ozarks to go swimming, fishing and camping. I had 15 cousins, so I remember our family portraits were all a big deal.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
We love the Newcastle Wedding Gardens. Georgia and Stephen Barron are the kindest people ever, and we share a similar feeling about making our customers feel special.
And finally, customer service is…?
Making sure that you treat each customer in the same way that you like to be treated. We have always thought that the best way to foster great customer service is to consider ourselves on the opposite side of the desk. Once you adopt that philosophy, you will have the best business it can be.
