Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I have had a dream of opening a gallery to feature local artists for the past 30 years. When I saw this building I knew I had found my gallery’s home. The natural light here is incredible, and Diamond Springs is the perfect location. My husband told me, “Build it and they will come.” He was right. The artists have been very supportive and the gallery is rapidly filling up. I enjoy hearing the comments of the first-time gallery guests; they are amazed at the variety, quality, and excellent prices that the artists have set for their work. We started receiving custom jewelry and painting orders our first week.

Where do you go when the going gets tough?

I tackle problems head-on. When I have things under control, I go to my studio and create.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

Spending time with my dad while he did metal work. He was a true metal artist.

What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?

The Diamond Springs Hotel Restaurant is my favorite place to eat out. Their prime rib is sensational.

What’s your favorite local event that you go to?

The Annual Rock and Gem Show at the Fair Grounds in October.

What’s your favorite local business other than your own?

Basically Beads. The owners Bob and Diane are wonderful people. I could spend hours visiting with them and running my fingers over beads and gems. It is very therapeutic.

What’s your biggest job perk?

I get to spend my day surrounded by so many beautiful things. When someone comes in and finds that perfect gift for themselves or someone special in their lives, it really makes my day.
