Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?

I have been interested in consignment stores since I first discovered them in the Bay Area. It is such a great way to kick your home décor up a notch for less money. Now, it is even more important as we recycle items that man no longer needs, but they can be just what someone else is looking for – it’s a win-win for consignors and customers alike. I recently made this career change due to a major life event. I asked myself what I would really love to do and this is it! I came to Roseville to be near my sisters and do something I love.

How are you involved with both the community and your customer?

I have the opportunity to actually visit my consignors in their homes when I go out to preview the furniture they would like to consign. I usually learn something about what lifestyle changes they are making and how we can help by selling their gently used items. The church I attend, Bayside, has a great network for serving the community – that is where I am plugged in to community activities.

Why is your staff the best in the business?

My staff loves working here. They enjoy the display aspect of making every item look its very best and the interaction with the customers looking for that one special item. My shop is designed to be a neighborhood boutique where you get to talk to the owner and discuss what you may be looking for. We even keep a “wish list” for customers looking for something we don’t have at the moment.

What’s your hidden talent?

I love to show hospitality. I can do that at my shop and in my home. I love decorating and planning for dinner parties or other group activities.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

I loved going on family vacations because I would get to see more of my dad. I lived in Kansas so we would vacation in Missouri at a cabin. My dad would make breakfast. It was great!

And finally, customer service is…?

Customer service is…treating each customer with hospitality, respect and efficiency.
