Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I own a mobile spa business where I have the pleasure of encouraging, inspiring, and re-energizing women through the vehicle of a spa experience. I teach women how to have a "spa day" everyday...no appointment necessary and in the privacy of their own home! We also do workplace relaxation/appreciation spas. Working with the amazing BeautiControl spa line, we are able to bring our clients the best of science and nature through advanced, cutting-edge products in spa, skincare and premium cosmetics as well as an opportunity for them to own their own spa business. This business found me and has been the vehicle for so many others to make extra money as well. We are always hiring and to many people’s surprise, have experienced huge growth during these trying times!
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
One of my favorite things to do is what I call “Spa My Community” where two times a month, I “spa” a group or organization within my community as a thank you and a way to give back to those who serve others. Some of my favorites have been teachers, service organizations, churches, etc., where so many people spend their time loving and serving others. It’s my pleasure to come in and appreciate them with the gift of relaxation.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
My marriage to my high school sweetheart. We’ve pretty much grown up together, and I appreciate everything about him and our family!
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
My dear friend, Kathy, who taught me how to be a better wife, mom and business owner! I learned so much just from watching her do all the above with such grace and beauty! She’s amazing.
What’s your hidden talent?
I’m a handyman at home! My dad taught me so much about fixing and building things! I put myself through college working at a hardware store...so, I’m very comfortable in the paint and plumbing departments!
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
Posh Provocateur Candles, because they make me happy; and Expert Design & Construction, because they have such vision in helping me make my house a retreat! I’m into relaxing, if you haven’t noticed!
And finally, customer service is…?
The key to everything! With good customer service you’ll have clients for life and most everything else will fall into place. Without it, consider yourself sunk!
