Abby, Paul Stahlhuth’s pride and joy, is a hyper-energetic Rat Terrier that needs a place to play.

Sadly, the City of El Dorado Hills requires that all dogs outside of their own fenced yards be on leashes...and Abby does not agree with this. Paul Stahlhuth, Abby’s best friend and owner, decided to come to her rescue by joining the El Dorado Dog Owners Guild (EDDOG), formed to create dog parks in El Dorado Hills.

“We have been to the one in Folsom, and it is great. We just need the same kind of facility locally,” Stahlhuth shares. To create the El Dorado Hills Dog Park where they want to, EDDOG needs to raise about $100,000, which is a lot of money to a dog like Abby. So to help the project along, Stahlhuth created “Abby’s Challenge,” and he is matching all contributions to the dog park project, 50 cents on the dollar, up to $2,000. “This way, I’m leveraging the money that I contribute. Hopefully we will get $6,000 out of Abby’s Challenge,” he says.

Stahlhuth and Abby are looking forward to having a dog park in El Dorado Hills in the future. If you would like to contribute to their cause, visit eddog.org.
